My name is My Phan and I’m currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Viroscience, Erasmus MC.
I enjoyed all natural science subjects since secondary schools and I got a second prize for outstanding students in national contest for Biology in high school. I then studied a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in Australia, major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Subsequently, I obtained a PhD in Medical sciences and infectious diseases from University of Oxford (United Kingdom), where my study focused on diarrheal diseases in young children in Vietnam. I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (Cambridge, United Kingdom) for 2.5 years before relocating to Erasmus MC.
I like participating in public engagement activities, particularly inspiring young students to be interested in science and communicating scientific research to general public audiences.
